So, I decided to set up a blog to publish myself on the web – what the heck, everyone is doing it, so why can’t I? So, to start with I am a HUGE fan of Metal. I am also a Christian – meaning I believe in Jesus. The tow can co-exist. Every time I hear a wack job preacher/ministers/what ever those self-anointed and self-appointed folks call themselves attack Metal, I just want to smack them (OK, I am not a violent person, just a figure of speech). I know many Christians that are HUGE metal fans. To use christianeese, I have no problem listening to “secular” music. I just call it MUSIC not “secular” as that is not a real genre or sub genre of much (like Christian music and its various sub-genre’s). Now, it is just funny how these folks folks attack the music and they really know nothing about the song or the bands or the musicians behind the music. Perfect example – Alice Cooper. The man is a Christian. His job is music, he loves music and puts on a great show for his fans. Yet, the people who are all over the King David’s wars and having a man killed because David knocked up his wife have issue with Alice’s lyrics.

Or the wack jobs that say music has to have a certain chord progression and can’t use certain chord progressions or the music is evil are nuts. Some of those folks take it a step farther and claim that “worship music” has to have a set chord progression to be “worshipful”. No, that is call manipulation. “Worship” music can be used to elicit responses from the audiences and the manipulate them to respond in a certain manner.

A perfect example is Sovereign Grace Ministries. They are a cult. Here’s a plug for a great website – www.sgmsurvivors.com – this is a site to help those who have been abused by these nut jobs.
